I am a second-year PhD student, co-supervised by Dr. Steven Heine and Dr. Friedrich Götz, studying cultural, cross-cultural, and personality psychology. Broadly, my research examines how cultural and geographical environments shape individual differences and psychological experiences, and their implications for well-being. One line of my research focuses on cultural adaptation and multicultural experiences, including acculturation, cultural fit, multicultural identities, and how social norms vary across cultures and shape people’s experiences. A second line of my research examines geographical variation in personality and behavior, including within-country regional differences in personality traits and individuals’ patterns of daily mobility, as well as the predictors and consequences of these variations. My research draws on large-scale, multinational datasets and uses methods such as the big data approach, machine learning, multilevel modeling, spatial analysis, online field experiments, GPS-based mobility tracking, and experience sampling.
